The Dresher Center for the Humanities, in conjunction with the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS), and the Vice President for Research, invites applications for Summer Fellowships.
The application for Summer 2027 will be posted in November.
Funding is intended to support and promote significant humanities research at UMBC. Dresher Center Summer Fellows will receive support for summer research and the advancement of a book manuscript, a major article, or a project of similar stature. Funding may also be used for assistance in developing extramural funding applications, book proposals, and grant project applications.
Proposals are welcome from all full-time, tenured or tenure- track UMBC faculty as well as full-time professors of the practice pursuing humanities research in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Proposals will be reviewed by the Dresher Center Advisory Board.
Things to Note:
- Up to two fellowships will be awarded.
- Individuals or groups can apply for a summer fellowship.
- Summer Fellows will receive $6,000 per award (paid in equal distributions in May and June).
