The Media and Communication Studies Department hosts William Siemering as a part of their speaker series.


William Siemering is an international public radio program developer and manager. A recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "Genius" grant, Siemering was a founding member of the NPR Board and wrote its original mission statement, the National Public Radio Purposes. As NPR'S first director of programming, Siemering pioneered novel uses of sound in the creation of the flagship nightly news program All Things Considered. He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Wyncote Foundation.
