Cyborg Theory
Join us for a talk by Dr. Danya Glabau related to 21st century cyborg theory and her book, Cyborg (with Laura Forlano). There will be approximately 30 minutes of structured lecture, followed by 30 minutes of discussion and questions.

Danya Glabau is a medical anthropologist and STS scholar researching health activism, the medical economy, and how human bodies become valuable data. She directs the Technology Ethics curriculum at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and also teaches in the Integrated Design and Media graduate program. She earned her PhD from the Department of Science Technology Studies (STS) at Cornell University.
Her book, Cyborg (2024 MIT Press; co-authored by Laura Forlano, Northeastern University), offers a 21st introduction to cyborg theory in contexts like work, medicine and disability, art and design, and feminist theory.
