The Department of Music is thrilled to welcome the Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet as artists in residence at UMBC on November 20 and 21. The residency will include concerts, masterclasses, and a lecture for the UMBC Community.

On Sunday, November 21 at 4:30 p.m. in the Music Box, the Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet presents “El tango y su evolución/The Tango and Its Evolution,” a lecture-demonstration about the evolution of tango music, including the musical forms of tango, milonga, and vals, and the main characteristics of its development. The lecture will be presented entirely in Spanish.

This event is free, but tickets will be required for admission. Tickets will be available to the general public on November 15 — please visit here to reserve a seat.

Sunday, November 21, 7:30 p.m. — UMBC Symphony Orchestra with The Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet
