Description
DeRay Mckesson will discuss his recent book, On the Other Side of Freedom: The Case for Hope, a meditation on resistance, justice, and freedom. The discussion will be led by students participating in the Black Culture in the Digital Age course within the UMBC Department of English. This course explores the intersections of race, ethnicity, discourse, media, and communication systems while encouraging students to grapple with the impact of digital media on social movements, such as Black Lives Matter.
Seating is limited and advance registration is required.
