The Dresher Center for the Humanities is proud to co-sponsor this Individualized Study Program event:
During WWII, the Final Solution to the Jewish Question was a plan developed in Nazi Germany for the extermination of Jews in what is now known as the Holocaust - the state-sponsored persecution of six million Jews. In order to escape these events, many, like Les Horan, went into hiding. Forced to pass as both Christian and female, Horan grew up unaware of his religious and ethnic background, resulting in an inherited sense of shame in his son, Gavriel Horan - now the UMBC Jewish Learning Connection Religious Council Advisor. Both father and son will join us for this multi-generational look at the Holocaust, the history of passing, and the journey to discovering and returning to their ethnic roots.
Co-sponsored by the Honors College, and the Judaic Studies Program.
