More Than Pupusas: A Teaching Kitchen
Join Karla T. Vasquez, food writer, recipe developer, food stylist, for a cooking demonstration in the True Grit's Test Kitchen. Vasquez will teach students how to make pastelitos de hongos and fresco de marañón.
You must be a UMBC student to participate. Spots are limited, so sign up today toregister. A copy of The SalviSoul Cookbook will be given away to a participant.
After this cooking demonstration, people are encouraged to attend the first event of our Humanities Forum on September 24 at 5:30pm in the Library Gallery:
In conversation with Krystal C. Mack, Vasquez will discuss The SalviSoul Cookbook and her efforts to preserve the food and stories of Salvadoran moms, aunts, grandmothers, and friends.

Karla T. Vásquez, escritora gastronómica, desarrolladora de recetas y estilista gastronómica, enseñará a los estudiantes cómo hacer pastelitos de hongos y fresco de marañón.
