Join
     History Professor Amy Froide who will introduce us to five women from 
    the 17th & 18th centuries whose names we should know. A 
    proto-feminist writer, a scientific artist, an early environmentalist, 
    an inventor, and a pirate! A pirate! Come learn about women in early 
    modern history.
Bio:
Professor Amy Froide is
     outgoing chair of the History department and incoming Director of the 
    Dresher Center for the Humanities. Professor Froide teaches courses in 
    British history and European Women’s History, focusing on the years 
    1500-1800. Her areas of expertise include social, economic, and gender 
    history.
